You are right, it doesn't look like any of those options will solve the
problem. It may just be that Norton wouldn't allow that to be disabled, so
that you could not automate NAVDX on NT Server. The program that the
current versions of Norton include that claims to be a command line scanner
has a similar trap in it -- it always reports an exit code that states that
there is no virus (although the text on the screen shows that it found one).
My recommendation would be to use a different scanner, such as McAfee's
VirusScan, F-Prot, Sophos Sweep, or Kaspersky.
