Uh, yep, that'd be me with the yellow stuff on the face (egg) ...
I get my Imail_Forum mail delivered to [EMAIL PROTECTED] ...
so when Declude, the software, quarantined a Imail_Forum virused e-mail
it notified the intended recipient ([EMAIL PROTECTED])
exactly as it should ... well, duh, do I feel dumb this evening.
At first glance I was thinking Declude was sending to the forum.
Sorry list members. Double that for you Scott.
I am using the "To: %MAILFROM%" in my .eml files ...
I currently notify the original sender, recipient, and a
local control account with all the details. Using
postmaster@%REMOTEHOST% is something I've considered but
I'd be afraid I'd just add to some admins work load.
Hopefully my notifications to the original sender are
heeded and they take remedial action. Tough call, I guess.
Anyway, thanks for taking time to listen and I'll just
crawl, red faced, back into my shell. <smile>

The E-mail notifications aren't actually being sent to the list. The IMail
mailing list gets sent using a return address (found in the "MAIL FROM"
from the SMTP envelope) of "[EMAIL PROTECTED]". This is
the address that the E-mail notifications get sent to.
If your .eml template files say "To: %MAILFROM%", they would go to the
owner of the IMail mailing list. If they say "To: %ALLRECIPS%", it should
just go to you (Declude uses the E-mail addresses that the remote mail
server attempted delivery to -- your address). "To:
postmaster@%REMOTEHOST%" would send it to [EMAIL PROTECTED]

I don't believe the notifications are getting sent to the IMail forum -- I
haven't seen them showing up there. But you are correct that Declude Virus
could use something such as a "Precedence: bulk" check. It *is* on our
request database, just waiting for the right time to get added.
