The answer is NO. This is a new version of the engine and the progam it self. the auto update file or program you have won't do the job. you have to download the program from f-prot web site and run it in your server. You may find conflicts setting up some dlls and the installation pack gives you the chance to select "reboot" meaning that the dll files will be replaced by new ones when installing the new f-prot version.
also take a look on how I installed it.. it may help you. (stopped all imail services. I prefer not to receive MAIL while installing it. I don't want to have a window lapse where my server gets an email and it's not properly scan against viruses. The domains I host have MX20 directed to a spool and forward server, so in the meantime all mails go to that server until I carefully finish the installation. Then reboot... restart services... and test... regards Luis Alberto Arango E. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Bob McGregor" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "Declude-List" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Friday, October 04, 2002 9:33 AM Subject: [Declude.Virus] script for f-prot update With the new version of f-prot, is the schedular batch file working for any one to get the new version? I have not downloaded the new version(manually) and thought the script would take care of it but so far my exe file has not changed. I'm using the script referenced at declude.com.
