I'm getting a boatload of xmascottage.shs , christmas.shs types of files.
These are banned extensions, but not detected by F-prot. I'm very suspicious
of these - any other experiences?
You're right to be suspicious of these attachments. http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=KB;en-us;q138275 says that "You cannot open an .shs file", so there should normally never be any need to send these files (they are "scrap files" that are used temporarily to transfer stuff that is "cut and pasted").

Searching on 'xmascottage.shs' (which, BTW, I see that we have received here, but were not detected as a virus) doesn't seem to show that there is a virus that uses that filename, and that it *might* be a legitimate file.
