Ok don't know about the 700 emails, but I think I have found the problem with the 
slowness of the server. Now this is strange. I found in one of my hosted virtual 
domains that the root had a forwarding email address that wasn't any good. I took it 
out ( have no idea of why it was in there, but I know the address ) and everything 
seems to be running much faster now.

So I turned back on the dns cache and the bad domain thing.
