We are using a Environmental Monitoring card in our APC Symetra UPS to
provide email notification, but we also have an Only Sensaphone Unit,
http://sensaphone.com The cool thing about the sensaphone is that it can
actually sequentially call voice phone numbers and provide a verbal readout
of conditions that are out of spec (such as a high temperature). The newer
units besides this capability also have the ability to send email
notifications as well. You may want to check them out, they are straight
forward to setup and you can connect all sorts of sensors to them and they
are priced quite reasonably too.
