The new version of AVG is 7. Maybe you picked up an old version though. In AVG 7 at least, you want to make sure that you don't install AVG Resident Shield or the E-mail scanner. It could be that your pop-ups are coming from the real-time component. Also, if you are running two virus scanners, you need to be numbering them like so: SCANFILE1 C:\Progra~1\FSI\F-Prot\fpcmd.exe /TYPE /SILENT /NOBOOT /NOMEM /ARCHIVE /PACKED /DUMB /REPORT=report.txt I'm a much bigger fan of F-Prot because it's faster, at least in the 32-bit mode, easier to configure, and it's not at all expensive. I have yet to figure out how to use the 32-bit executable for AVG 7, but this is likely an issue with virus codes and the report line (please someone help if you know the trick for avgscan.exe).
