My advice: Get it in writing. Verbal communication can always be denied later on.
It has happened to me way too many times in the past that I'm told something when I buy, then the company that sold it later denies that they told me that thing when I question changes. I was able to purchase/renew my SA at the normal $495 price. So I'm set for another year. They said that price might increase to $695, but that's not going to kill me. I asked if the product is the same: yes. Will I be eligible for 8.2+ & 9.0 upgrades: yes. Is the product going to be killed in the future: no. By "the product" I mean the Imail server without any extras, unlimited users - much as we know it now. Of course I'm happy that I can continue to use declude as well. The price will be going up, so any one who wants to renew an SA, or has 6.0-8.0 might want to seriously think about giving up the $500 now, if for nothing else to have the latest updates and some time to work out what you are going to do. All new purchases must be of ICS, this is only for existing Imail customers. Until that email today from Ipswitch I didn't know what the renewal costs were going to be for the new product (it took them a week to get that response to me too). I'll have to check out those other products you mentioned in your email.
