I know this is way off topic, but was hoping someone on this list might be
able to help me with this issue. I can't find any information in Google or
Gmail - and to date at least no help from Gmail themselves.

We are running SmarterMail 2.0 as our mailbox server and using an MS SMTP
server as an outbound gateway. So all of our outbound mail is delivered by
the MS SMTP server. Our issue is that every message from our mail server
shows up in Gmail as "unknown sender" and with no Subject. This seems to
relate to SPF some way, but it certainly may be something else entirely.
There is a "Received-SPF: unknown" line displayed when I click "Show
Original" on a message from our mail server.

However, if I change my email client to say I'm [EMAIL PROTECTED] for
example, then the message displays correctly. And Yahoo.com apparently has
no SPF data and Gmail displays "Received-SPF: neutral" on this message.

This may have nothing to do with the SPF, but it seems like if might. I've
tested our SPF data for messages from orcsweb.com using 66.129.68.9 and
everything appears correct to me, FWIW.

Any ideas/help will be appreciated!

TIA,

David Weber
