Hello, Well at least turned out what the last error of mine was: apt forks the ftp in the back and when stopped (error or ctrl-c) it does not stop the background process. If I don't explicitly kill -9 them the update never works anymore.
Something else. After upgrading from bo to hamm using apt (after autoup) of course a big heap of essentials, importants and stuff were upgraded. When the upgrade was finished (there was some errors because some package but it does not matter I think) I realised that no real users can do anything on the system. Was easy to find out why: someone did a "chmod 744 /" on the system. Maybe apt is the one to blame, maybe not, but to make it sure I tell you. :) You may discard me. :)) bests, g. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble?
