You misunderstood me. I meant a smallpopup beneath the curses / besides
the package version when the user marks a single package for install
or upgrade.

Hmm, a `glue' option? We can do this using a simple boolean flag I think:
if you mark a package as `glued' it will only be upgraded to a packaged
that comes from the same distribution, as found in the Release-file.
