apt 0.3.0 does not have an ftp method compiled in by default. There _is_ a reason for this (it dont work right). You basically have 3 choices: 1) Don't use ftp method in your /etc/apt/sources.list 2) Recompile apt with ftp support and beta test. 3) Downgrade to 0.1.9 and give up gnome-apt. -Mitch
