Package: apt Version: 0.1.9 I wanted to point apt at the slink-proposed-updates. So I tried this in my sources.list (line break for readability):
deb ftp://ftp.mcc.ac.uk/pub/linux/distributions/Debian/dists \ slink-proposed-updates/ That found the Packages file but not the packages, whereas deb ftp://ftp.mcc.ac.uk/pub/linux/distributions/Debian \ slink-proposed-updates/ found the packages but not the package file. I think there maybe something a tiny bit wrong when it comes to deciding whether to put a "dists" in the path or not.
