Package: apt
Version: 0.1.7
Severity: wishlist

I use apt with a mirror list. Here is my sources.list file:

deb http://www.de.debian.org/debian unstable main contrib non-free
deb http://www.de.debian.org/debian-non-US unstable non-US
deb http://www.uk.debian.org/debian unstable main contrib non-free
deb ftp://ftp.debian.org/debian unstable main contrib non-free

But sometimes the list of packages retrieved from www.de.debian.org
contains packages that have not yet been mirrored onto this host. This
makes "apt-get dist-upgrade" fail, because it cannot retrieve the
package.

It would be great if apt used all the alternatives (in order) when an
error occurs, so that the mirror gets used if the packages are
up-to-date, the original site otherwise.
