There is nothing that can be done here. You have to unpack apt, libc6 and the the new libstdc++ for APT in that order because of the way they all interdepend. If you stop APT in the middle then it will be broken. This is primarily due to a bug in glibc that prevents older APT's from working with newer glibcs. > Also, is it possible to make sure that the two package get unpacked and > configured as close to each other as possible?
