Package: apt Version: 0.3.14 Severity: wishlist It would be great if apt-get could support a temporary command line addition to the URI sources list. This would be useful for adding a single package on an archive that you don't want to keep the Package list of that archive current. During this one time install apt-get would not update the Package lists from the sources.list file but only grab the Package file from the command line URI.
apt-get --uri "deb http://site.org/debian update/" install package If package had any depencies then apt would of course use them from the sites in sources.list. -- System Information Debian Release: potato Kernel Version: Linux brian 2.2.13 #1 Tue Nov 16 14:54:04 EST 1999 i686 unknown Versions of the packages apt depends on: ii libc6 2.1.2-10 GNU C Library: Shared libraries and timezone ii libstdc++2.10 2.95.2-3 The GNU stdc++ library
