Jason has said he doesn't want to write code for that for quite a bit yet. And besides, I haven't officially released that(it's not in cvs afaicr) If you recall, my testing shows that --commandpipe is no faster, and slightly slower, than separate dpkg invocations. What you are probably more interested in is --statuspipe. The 2 are not related.
