More info: I've checked one `corrupted' file in archives/partial while it was being downloaded, and... well, it was all zeros.
Oh, and it's not just the progress showing a bigger size than the
Packages file... the other way around is also possible. (I've had
kdebase being listed as 678kB or thereabouts).
Also I suspect the culprit to be ftp.de.debian.org... I've got
ftp.fr.debian.org and ftp.debian.org in my sources.list, and fr didn't
once show these symptoms (or I just didn't notice :-/ )
