No, of course not. That is not what you asked for. You asked 'how do I make apt remove something when I have packages in an inconsistant state'. You do that by specifying an exact solution on the command line using a combination of +/- post-fix operators. You specified an inexact solution, so it told you so and gave up. E: Unmet dependencies. Try 'apt-get -f install' with no packages (or specify a solution).
