Package: apt Version: 0.5.3 Severity: normal Tags: woody
I was upgrading my system (with dselect, using apt, getting packages from ftp.at.debian.org) today Thu Jul 26 2001. pressing Install in dselect caused dpkg to write error messages about parsing /var/lib/dpkg/available. editing this file i mentioned 2 packages with wrong headers: Package: man2html Version: 1.5-23 AND Package: procmail Version: 3.21-1 both of theese had 2 empty lines somewhere between "^Package:" and "^Description:" I don't know if I'm right here with this bug. it has also to do with 2 other packages. I think that (before attempt to install) files like available should be parsed by "apt-get update" or the distributing server. -- System Information Debian Release: testing/unstable Architecture: i386 Kernel: Linux deb01 2.2.19-ide #1 Sun Jun 24 15:26:24 EST 2001 i686 Locale: LANG=de, LC_CTYPE=de Versions of packages apt depends on: ii libc6 2.2.3-5 GNU C Library: Shared libraries an ii libstdc++2.10-glibc2.2 1:2.95.4-0.010424 The GNU stdc++ library
