Package: apt
Version: 0.5.4
Severity: minor

Hi,

if i see it right it's impossible to track the upcoming release "woody"
with apt with the Default-Release option. it just takes "stable"
"testing" or "unstable" but when woody is released the user has to
switch this setting from "testing" to "stable" at the right time..

it would be very nice if the user could choose to track releases instead
of release-states.

Also not a bug:

       --default-release
This option controls the default input to the pol=AD
icy engine, it creates a default pin at priority
990 using the specified release string. The prefer=AD
ences file may further override this setting. In
short, this option lets you have simple control
over which distribution packages will be retrieved
from. Some common examples might be -t '2.1*' or -t
              unstable.  Configuration Item: APT::Default-Release

=20
The example clearly indicates how to specify a release.
