Followup-For: Bug #166758 Package: apt Version: 0.5.4 I'm seeing this bug as well. My system has plenty of free RAM and swap (around 0.5 GB), so the error seems bogus. The error does not occur if I remove several hosts from my /etc/apt/sources file, though. I tried experimenting with different permutations, and it doesn't seem to matter which hosts are included, only the number.
