Hi,

I don't know whether this is the right email address.

I'd like to ask a couple of things about .deb, please. I didn't
find this information in the FAQ.

1) Why did Debian invent it? I mean, .rpm was born before .deb, or
am I wrong? Couldn't Debian simply develop apt-get based on .rpm
instead of .deb?

2) Now, is it possible to switch to .rpm for the next major
release of Debian (I'm not talking about 3.x, but 4.0)?

thanks :)
