Version: 0.5.4
Severity: wishlist

I wish there was a diet version of apt-get update for modems users?
Maybe just the minimum to make sure dependencies are straight. That
way we wouln't have to download 2 meg just to upgrade a small package,
without resorting to dpkg etc.

apt-get update downloads Packages and Sources files. There is no
alternative source of this information which is smaller.
