severity 188161 normal thanks (the problem does not seem so "simple" as previously exposed)
Getting back to work on the set of machines on which I originally had this problem. Now I don't use the CD to do the base install, I just point to our internal up-to-date woody mirror. I backported 0.5.12 to woody, and checked it does not behave better in this respect. I finally narrowed the problem the following: - when my meta-package is not installed and I "apt-get install" it directly, there is no problem at all - when it was installed with "dpkg --force-depends" first (for reasons irrelevant to the current bugreport), and then I "apt-get -f install" to bring the machine to the target state, then the "internal error" hits. This meta-package, however, has no predepends. Maybe the problem comes from pre-depends of its dependancies, and from the fact that it's essential ? -- Yann Dirson <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> http://www.alcove.com/ Technical support manager Responsable de l'assistance technique Senior Free-Software Consultant Consultant senior en Logiciels Libres Debian developer ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) Développeur Debian
