What does "apt-cache policy mozilla-thunderbird mozilla-thunderbird-enigmail" show when the system is in this state? Send copies of /etc/apt/sources.list, and /etc/apt/preferences if it exists. If you do have a preferences file, does it install correctly if you remove/rename it temporarily? -- - mdz
