I've apt 0.6.21 installed (see below for details) which seems to work
fine with aptitude 0.2.14-3, but only if aptitude is installed with
--force-depends to get around aptitude wanting precisely
libapt-pkg-libc6.2-3-2-3.2.

The shlibs file is correct. Some parts of aptitude might continue to work,
but the ABI is in fact different.
