Package: apt Version: 0.5.27 Severity: minor File: /usr/bin/apt-get I was upgrading from spamassassin 3.0.0 to spamassassin 3.0.1 (and also spamc) using:
tracey:/home/ferriera# apt-get install spamassassin spamc (spamassassin 3.0.1 suggests libnet-smtp-perl OR perl-modules (>= 5.8.0)) I had perl-modules 5.8.4-2.3 installed for some time beforehand. Nevertheless, during the upgrade, apt printed: Reading Package Lists... Done Building Dependency Tree... Done Suggested packages: libnet-smtp-perl The following packages will be upgraded: spamassassin spamc 2 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 97 not upgraded. Need to get 0B/817kB of archives. After unpacking 143kB disk space will be freed. Reading changelogs... Done apt-listchanges: Do you want to continue? [Y/n]? I don't think apt should be suggesting libnet-smtp-perl in these circumstances - the perl-modules package already fulfills that.
