Please submit a patch series with a revert of the removal of the relevant files as the first change and then your incremental change as the second. Do you have a copyright assignment on file with the FSF? The change you have offered should not require one as it's not large enough to be legally significant, and a revert shouldn't qualify at all since it just brings back a previous state unchanged. However having a copyright assignment in place would make such considerations not necessary in the first place. Maciej
