I'm in the middle of my foray into the world of NET and as many of
my previous works involved the use of embedded databases to store and access
data I'm now also looking for the best ways to accomplish this under NET as
well.
I've never used or worked with a true Object Oriented Database such
as db40 or Matisse, but in reading what I've been able to find out about
them so far I've come to consider them as being a pretty intelligent idea!
Of course practicality is another things altogether and so I wanted
to ask about anyone's experience using any vendor's Object Oriented dB. If
you've worked with one...even as just a user...or can offer any information
about them I'd be grateful.
Mostly I'm worrying about issues such as speed in comparison to
other types...especially when the data store itself is small. How it
handles Blobs, where the bottlenecks are and any caveats to consider. Thanx
in advance for any info!
