I was interested in using Firebird but also found it confusing. I couldn't configure the client driver because it was always complaining about this or that file being missing. It was easy to install the Delphi client objects but they didn't work. I couldn't find any documentation to help with it either. It really needs some kind of "Getting Started" type of help file. DJS

If go with Firebird embedded then all you have to do is copy 2 or 3 files to your application's directory. I can't see how the database installation could be easier - except by compiling it right into your app. And should you ever need to support multiple simultaneous users then you won't have to change your app. Just install FB server and change your connection string. That's all. HTH, Markus ----------------------------------------------------- Home page: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/delphi-en/ To unsubscribe: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Yahoo!
