Hi Luis

As suggested by David it would be better to use ADO components, and if
you're ready to spend some money use the SDAC components which are the
greatest components for SQL Server I've seen so far... (www.crlab.com.sdac).
ADO has slower performance than SDAC it's because it supports many engines.
If you will not be working on large volumes of DB I think ADO will be good.
As for using BDE to access SQL Server, I don't suggest you to go there,
BDE
needs an extra ODBC to be able to connect to SQL. That's one more extra
layer data has to go through...
I have tried SDAC, ADO, BDE to access the same DB (on tables of 400,000
records) on an SQL Server and I got the best results in the respective
order.

Hope this helps
Vahan

I believe you'd be better off using the ADO components to access SQL server
(and they may not work out of the box either, I haven't tried them). BDE
requires 3rd party "middleware" and will be slow at best.

Recently I installed Delphi 7 and I have an error when I try to connect to
SQL server using BDE components.

This is the error:

"Vendor Initialization failed"
"Cannot load an IDAPI sevice library"
"File NTWDBLIB.DLL"
"Alias: Inver"

Does anybody knows how to handle this problem?
I'm using Delphi 7, no update pack and SQL SERVER 7.

Thanks in advance.
