An easy way would be to create an OnMouse down to mask this behavior with your own. It can be a dummy event that does nothing.
A harder way would be to descend a new component overriding the OnCreate where you can see from the source code the OLE Library is initialized (I think). You'd also have override OnDestroy where it is unitialized.
