don't get too liberal in sprinkling "application.processmessages" thoughout your code though. sometimes that causes problems because it can mess up the natural order of message handling. When this happens you can get strange errors that might be hard to track down.
If you need to repaint a form, call refresh (or repaint). If you need to make your app more responsive to users, it's best to use a thread for that. -John -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Behalf Of Micha Woniak Sent: Thursday, June 02, 2005 5:01 AM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [delphi-en] Application.ProcessMessages and performance Besides, the performance hit won't be that bad, as you don't have to call ProcessMessages in every single iteration - depending on the job being done, a loop will process quite a lot iterations per second, so calling once per, say, 100 iterations should do. Of course - that depends on the loop. You will have to test how fast are the iterations in your loop. Cheers Mike ___________________________________________________________ Yahoo!
