Well you have to agree with those Java guys for one of the 2 things
1) to give you access to their database and allow you to create some tables
for your needs to store the data you need and they will take care of it from
there
2) Export data into files
a) Ask if they have any importing module, what kind of file types this
module reads and under what formats
b) If they don't have an importing module ask them to write one taking
into consideration the file format you will be using...
I personally prefer the second point... you will have an independent and
flexible application... and of course less development work :)

Hi,
The Delphi application that I'm writting doesn't use a database only
communicate with a SOAP service.
The Java program uses PostGreSQL as back-end database.
