Hi John,
I agree that Visual Basic is the future. However, I don't consider Delphi
a dying horse. Delphi is still more advance. A lot of new features in
Visual Basic .NET have been in Delphi for years. It is probably easier for
a Delphi programmer to learn VB .NET then a VB6 programmer.
I would compare the Delphi vs. VB scenario with the Beta tape vs. VHS tape
scenario. One is more advance and one is more popular. At the end,
popularity wins.
Just my 2 cents
Raymond

OR anywhere else in the world? :-) There seems to be training
in India but nowhere else. Seems like Borland has dropped the
ball. I have just got the book Mastering Delphi Programming
by Bill Buchannan (Napier University) which is helping me
a lot getting the basics of Delphi, but even the author
seems to have changed his mind on how good Delphi REALLY
is as there is not much support on his website for it.
The links in the book pointing to additional material is
no longer there. :'( Unfortunately it seems that Visual Basic
is the future and using Delphi is like flogging a dying
horse to make it go faster!
