Hallo all,
firstly Lennie remember tahat in South Africa holidays that fall on a Sunday
have a subsequent public holiday on the following Monday.
Now, Easter is derived from the Germanic god Ostra, who was the god of
fertility. Hence the easter bunny and east the direction where the sun comes up
and new live begins (Fertility).
Similarly Christmas falls on the germanic Yulfeast, the feast of lights when
winter changes into summer. Nobody realy believes that JC was born in December,
now do they?
Why all this? When the emperor of Rome Constance converted to Christianity,
because his sister wanted him to by the way he had to accomadate the huge
amount of Germanic "Barbarians" that lived in his vast empire. So he told them
that their holidays, fertility feast and feast of lights, co-incided with
Easter and Christmas. Easy, isn't it? Just, makes one think what about
Christianity is actually true?
