I sure you incorrectly defined the ConnectionString.

The correct value is something like that:

str :=
'RDBName16=Provider=Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0;Password="";Data
Source=C:\Dir\data.mdb;Persist Security Info=True';
yourTAdoConnection.ConnectString := str;
