Personally I really don't know how I will adjust to not having this
and the other Delphi oriented lists always available to me IF no one is able
to take them over! Here since the very beginning, the members of these
lists have become my mentors, and even my friends. I've depended upon
them...and tried as best I could to offer help in return...but even more
than that, they have acted as my sounding board, suffering without complaint
my ideas, opinions, and in many cases even my personal problems! To
suddenly lose this wonderful peer group is going to hurt worse than any
personal loss I have yet had to endure!
It's too easy to say we'll keep in touch...and we know that never is
the case...because friends are transient...it's the nature of relationships.
If I had the ability to do so I could never let this group just fade away
however, and I would gladly bear the cost myself without reservation because
to me it IS a necessity of life! But I'm even losing my high-speed internet
until the Fall, and possibly longer, because next week I am moving into an
area that currently has no cable! They tell me it's coming before winter
but when I heard that here it took another two years before it actually did!
I don't even know how well I'll be able to take care of my own web site with
Sprint DSL, so the best I can do is offer to continue moderating for
whomever might be able to take it over.
In any event, and no matter what finally happens I want all to know
that I'll be publishing my personal e-mail address...the new one that I'll
get sometime in the next two weeks...in an encrypted form as part of my
signature, and that ANY members of ANY of these elists who wish to contact
me for ANY reason, ( except to borrow money! <g> ), will be able to quite
easily by deciphering it in a way I shall describe when the time comes. The
reason for this is that I get far too much spam as it is and I no longer
will allow my personal e-mail address out publicly.
