Borland must have heard that I bought a copy of VS because EVERY
thing is going wrong! First, after not being able to repair a problem with
my WinXP Pro installation, I decided it was a good time to reformat and
re-install everything. So I did. So far so good!
I installed Delphi 2005 and all was still okay. I installed VS 2003
and suddenly I cannot shut down my system or restart it except via the
buttons on the computer itself, and Microsoft says they have a special patch
for this issue but it's not available! <g>
Then I installed the 1st patch for Delphi 2005 and that went okay.
I started it up and tried to register it and the same problem occurred that
happened before...that is my community registration isn't recognized when I
go online so it tells me I have to do it with a new registration. I try
that but it recognizes my e-mail address and tells me I have to change that
as well! Then I try again and now it tells me I've reached the limit of
registrations allowed and it won't let me do it at all! This of course
means also that now I can't download the updates for it.
Luckily, I thought, I had made backup copies of the patches, and
someone else was able to send me a copy of the third patch. Patch one went
in fine, but now when I try to put patch 2 in, it tells me I don't have the
correct product to patch!
If anyone has a solution other than shooting myself in the other
foot, please let me know!
