Michael -
I've encountered the same problem a number of times. Some suggestions:
1. Go into Project Options/Linker, check both debug tags on the bottom
left, and then build the app - it helps sometimes, but not always
2. Put in a break point further down and hit run (doesn't work after the
debugger hangs)
3. Try using Run to instead of trace over / trace into.
For the most part, I find this to happen only when working on a medium to
large project. I'm using D7 SP1 on Windows XP.
