I remember that problem quite well and that I installed an IDE
add-on which allowed you to run your app from a button on the IDE toolbar
but without actually running thru it. Before that I would simply create a
shortcut to my projects and start them from there when I needed to test. As
far as I know there was never a remedy offered, but the problem went away in
the next version.

Subject: access violation error in VCL60.BPL

Hi there,

does anyone know how to avoid this error:

Access violation at address xxxx in module 'vcl60.bpl'. Write of address
00000018.

It happens to me whenever I run an application from the IDE. I have googled
it, many people seem to know this error, but none of their suggestions
seems to work.

Borland makes a silly statement ('no remedy known at this time') on their
web site, but at least acknowledging the problem.

It happens to me on every computer that I have installed Delphi on, but
does not happen to everybody else. So it seems to depend on some
installation option which I always choose but other people don't.

Suggestions are welcome!

Kind regards -

Chris Rutkowski
