I posted about the same problem with the debug getting stuck at breakpoint a
while a go and I found the cure, but it's really bizarre...

It happened to me a couple of times in the same week. I remembered that that
week, I had started to put my computer in standby mode before leaving work
at night. I stop doing it (I leave the computer on) and the problem is gone!

Never found the relation between the standby feature and the Delphi debugger
but it now works for me. I'm using D7 though.

Hope this helps.

Michael

Subject: delphi: the super intelligent virus

Hello. I use Delphi 6 ent. on Windows XP Home and I am wondering if any one
has had any similar symptoms of using Delphi. I keep getting strange
happenings with this program. I have showed you before the badfood memory
bug. Since I've improved my code, things work out pretty well, but now, all
of a sudden during a debug process, it doesnt want to debug. What happens is

that it stops at the break point, but pressing the F7, F8 key or using the
StepInto/Over buttons does nothing. It just stays there. Sometimes, even my
break points turn green or do not work at all. Closing down Delphi and
re-opening fixes this. My testers are getting strange happenings with their
project files (outside delphi) where it crashes windows, zip, etc.. Is my
computer possessed with a intelligent virus or is Delphi that buggy? I'm not

even going to get into how it acts in Windows 98.
