Look at the lengths game publishers are starting to go thru to protect their work! Games like Half-Life 2 which require hooking up online so that your membership and registration data which was hard-coded into the download required by the original install can be checked each time! At first this was resisted by the masses but now it's quite acceptable and more and more companies are using similar methods, like making you buy nothing more than a key and registration disc which in turn allows you to set up a pay by net account thru which you purchase installments of the game as you need or want them. I expect this could be the future for all application types no matter their size or importance. Everybody will be hooked up to broadband wireless anyway, so it won't really be any kind of imposition to the user. Companies like Essellerate will provide packages that wrap your app in all the necessary functionality including payment variations, and we'll all have accounts much like Paypal provides now except that they'll work in both directions. So just wait a few years and you won't have to worry about it any longer! <g>

I will look in to this. --- Robert Meek <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > That's why I include a hard-coded date in my apps that is looked at > when registration is not yet completed.
