Hi Everyone, I'm curious if someone out there has solved this problem before and provide any help for me. The background: I just installed my developer environment (Delphi 6 Enterprise, Update 2) on a new laptop (Laptop running XP-Tablet). Basically it is all working fine except I am only sporadically getting the "Hints" to show up in the Delphi IDE. This includes when you hover over the toolbar item, current property values when tracing, basically anything that would should a hint window just doesn't display. Because of that, I'm guessing that it has something to do with "ParentShowHint" for the Delphi IDE (as I believe it is written in Delphi). Just to throw mass confusion into it, about 1 in 10 times that I open Delphi all of the popup hints display just fine in all areas.
I have checked that the Toolbar View Options has Show Tooltips checked and I also verified the Show Hints setting on the Component Palette toolbar as checked. Clicking it off, closing the box, and clicking it on has no effect. . . Any ideas would be greatly appreciated - it's very annoying to have to do an Evaluate/Modify every time I want to quickly see a property value!
