Over the years there have been made more than a few attempts at setting up co-operative or singular forums for Delphi users, many of them by our own membership. And as of yet not one of them have shown an inroads toward being as or more successful as these mailing lists have been over their 15+ year life span! It may be true that as of late traffic seems a bit lower than usual, but we and the lists have both been through this before and I'm more than sure it is merely a combination of factors that will readjust or turn themselves around as the case may be in good time. And some of this may actually be doe to our own membership...because as with all things, we too have a constant need for change, and as our needs, experiences, jobs, etc., change, so may be the ways in which we look for help! I myself find I spend much more time on 3rd party newsgroups than I ever did simply because I currently have a need for the more specific replies my questions generate! In any case, those of us who have been around here as long as many have know very well the value and expertise that is at our beck and call here, and you would be hard pressed to find a better educated, or more resourceful group with whom you can brainstorm with when you need to. Just remember that it works both ways, and best thing any of us can do to help keep the lists active and of high value is to participate! Ask and answer, even when you're not sure...those threads end up being the most interesting and educative anyway! <g> And if you have something even partially "Delphi-ish" on your mind, then feel free AND even obligated to make it part of ours! Everybody's opinions and ideas are always welcome on these lists, and that's something I'm proud to say is not necessarily as easily found elsewhere! Even the dumbest, most far-outrageous statements, questions, and opinions are tolerated here with the general response being to help one better understand himself and/or the problem under discussion. ( I should know <g> ) But if you're taking votes, I do naturally abstain. This isn't the place for it.
