good question. D4P was purchased from Qadram.com. there used to be a series of demo videos here: http://www.qadram.com/news.php#4 one of which showed writing a wrapper around an existing PHP library (phpBB) into a D4P site, and it took about 15 minutes.
but that demo clip is no longer available. if I remember correctly it involved setting paths to the library files, setting up a host window area in the parent site-app, adjusting some CSS, and passing login info. but what has changed since codegear took the product over is not clear. although it comes with a lot of PHP docs, D4P is pretty lacking in the VCL4PHP docs and demo department. Also annoying, the product tryout period is 24 hours.. huh? sampler beware! I'd join a D4P list too.
