I am too busy right now to go into this in depth but I have seen this
behaviour before with NT services.  

I think to solve the problem we logged in as the machine administrator
(to ensure there were no security problems), but we ended up giving up
on trying to get services to run as a specific user.  To tell you the
truth I think (it was early last year) we gave up on trying to run the
thing as a service because of problems and simply ran it as a task tray
app.

First thing to do in these cases is to hit MSDN and look for some
examples.  Sorry I can't be of more help.

Of course its quite amazing that people buy NT as opposed to say Linux
because it is 'supported' by a big company like MS - but try ringing up
MS and ask for help on say services or DCOM.  IMHO some of this stuff
just does not work as advertised.
