I got my original D4 install going now, I just copied the D4 registry
settings from my original NT 4 install.
This got Delphi 4 up, but the VCL palette icons are poked. Some ppear with
major corruption making them un viewable, some start half-way through a
previous icon, and some are OK.
I removed all VCL packages (unTicked them) and added them back. This did fix
over 50% of them, but when I re-loaded Delphi, they were corrupted again.
I wonder if this is a WIN 2000 Problem, or a Delphi problem?
I wonder what Borland will do with D4 not installing?. I think that because
WIN 2000 does not support 16 bit code then the problem is really with the
Delphi 4 install program, ie a Borland problem.
If they do not come up with a good fix there will be a lot of un happy
developers when Win 2000 is released in about 4-5 months.
ps (Off-Topic):
If you have NT 4 and you use NTFS and you install a fresh copy of Win 2000
make sure your NT 4 is running SP4 or you will not be able to get access to
NT 4 since Win 2000 changes NTFS to NTFS 5, which NT 4 can only use with SP4
or greater.
