Hi folks, My latest report was that 401 installed ok but Wise complained when I installed stuff later. That remains the case, BUT: a) the app requiring the treeview runs ok and DOES show all icons now b) When I reverted to another COmctl32.dll from a different Win9x machine, both the Wise error message and the "ok" app display persisted, i.e. 401 isn't the root cause of whatever is happening on that machine now. Could be a Wise issue, or maybe I replaced another DLL by mistake in my machinations, thus causing Wise some problems. So I'd have to call 401 a success, and withdraw allegations to the contrary <g>.
